Los Angeles, CA (June 18, 2010) Niloufar Lamakan of United Kingdom was Awarded: Second Prize in Interior Design Competition for the entry titled, ” Canonbury Home.”
The International Design Awards exist to celebrate the world’s most visionary designers, discover new and emerging talent, and promote the appreciation of design worldwide. Architects and designers of interiors, fashion, products, and graphics submitted over 1000 entries from 52 countries throughout the world, proving IDA’s global emphasis. Judging was a rigorous process, with winners receiving publication of their work in the 2008 International Design Awards art book, to be distributed to museum bookstores nationwide; promotion to 100,000 design professionals and potential clients worldwide; year-long coverage on the International Design Awards website; and critical acclaim by our distinguished panel of judges.
Jurors included Qingyun Ma, Dean of Architecture, University of Southern California; Gwynne Pugh, Pugh+Scarpa Architects; Kahi Lee, Host, HGTV’s “Design on a Dime” and Style Network’s “My Celebrity Home”; Rido Busse, Chairman, German Industry and Trade Board; John Dunnigan, Chair, Department of Furniture, Rhode Island School of Design; and Brandusa Niro, Editor-in-Chief and Founder, Fashion Week Daily; and other leaders and editors in the design fields.

KBBREVIEW Industry Awards: Runner Up

Nila Design was a runner up at the Kbbreview design 2011 industry awards announced at the awards ceremony held in Excel London. Judges were looking for the way designers managed to achieve flair and individuality while keeping within reasonable budgets. The competition was tough this year with many entries from designers around the country.

IDFX Awards: Finalist

Nila Design has been selected as a finalist in the Best Kitchen Design category at the IDFX Awards 2010. The awards’ organisers say: “The prestigious idfx Awards invite British and international design talent to put forward their very best interior products and projects. idfx magazine is recognised and respected for the quality of its editorial content, which reflects the very best in contemporary domestic design. Our new awards will celebrate the achievements of architects and designers who work to set new standards in residential interiors.”

KBBREVIEW Industry Awards: Finalist

Nila Design has been shortlisted as a finalist at the KBB Review Industry Awards 2011, in the category of Designer Award for Bathrooms – project cost up to £15,000.  The awards’ organisers say:
“This category rewards the skill of the bathroom designer in not just aesthetic and practical results but also their use of budget, problem solving and meeting the client’s brief. This award is specifically for projects with an overall budget up to £15,000. Judges are looking for the way designers have managed to achieve flair and individuality while keeping within reasonable budgets, a genuine skill essential for the success of the frontline bathroom retailer. Where have they spent the money wisely to exceed expectations?”

London, UK, The Design Awards 2009 (October 1, 2009) – Niloufar Lamakan of Nila Design was a finalist in the category of ‘Kitchen Design of the Year’ for her North London project.
The Design Awards is an ongoing scheme to promote excellence in design in the home, organised by the publishers of Designer magazine and supported by over 30 leading UK suppliers. Launched in 2003, the Design Awards focused initially on kitchen and bathroom design projects, but has now expanded to celebrate the work of designers working with complete living spaces.
